myPEL respects every user’s privacy and complies with applicable laws for the protection of user data. If you are a User of the app, you may be asked to provide certain basic information, including some PII. We request this information to provide our services to you. 

When you visit our app, a short text file called a cookie may be downloaded to your computer.  A cookie is used to store small amounts of information. This information is collected for traffic analysis only. The cookie does not contain personal details. Depending on the browser that you use, you can set your preferences to block/refuse cookies, and/or notify you before they are placed.  

When the Privacy Policy uses the terms “myPEL”, it means “our,” “us,” or “we”.

This privacy policy shall also serve as our Data Policy which describes the information we process, how we are processing it, the purposes for which we are processing it, and User rights to their information and privacy. This information is necessary to support the myPEL service and other products and features offered by us. You can find additional content and information when you register an account with us.

For the provision of our services, we collect only non-personally identifiable data (“Information”) referred to as information that cannot be used to identify you as an individual (“Anonymous Information”). We may also collect and process the following Anonymous information about you, but only with your consent.

    • Date of birth,  
    • Gender,  
    • User Activity 
    • Wake-up/go-to bedtimes 
    • Device Identifiers 

All this information is necessary to provide our services to you.

    • We may collect your location data, to send you to push notifications regarding the services or certain features of the Mobile App(s) and services.

    • We collect information about how you use our services, such as the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the actions you take, and the time, frequency, and duration of your activities. For example, we log when you’re using and have last used our service, and what posts and other content you view on our app. 
    • This can be your computer/mobile IP Address, Mac Address, device type, and location through the use of Cookies. Unique identifiers, device IDs, and other identifiers. 
    • You may choose to voluntarily provide other information to us that we do not request, like when you contact us for complaints, and, in such instances, you are solely responsible for such information.

All user data may be processed either by servers based in our Head office for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected, complying with the rules on the protection of personal data, including those related to .

    • Unauthorized access to user data. 

All data shall be delivered and stored using secured methods and procedures. These methods include but are not limited to SSL, security certificates, data, and database encryption.

When we process your data, we will do so in reliance on the following lawful bases: 

    • To perform our responsibilities under our contract with you (e.g., providing the products and services you requested).

    • To comply with our legal obligations (e.g., to maintain a record of your consents and track those who have opted out of non-administrative communications). 
    • When we have your consent to do so (e.g., when you opt-in to receive non-administrative communications from us).  

When consent is the legal basis for our processing of your data, you may withdraw such consent at any time.

We store personal data associated with your device for as long as your account remains active. If you close your account, we will delete your account data within a specific number of days. We store other personal data for as long as necessary to carry out the purposes for which we originally collected it and for other legitimate business purposes, including to meet our legal, regulatory, or other compliance obligations. 


 

  1. European/UK Privacy Rights 

If you are a resident in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:  

    1. check whether we hold Personal Information about you and to access such data (subject to applicable laws);  
    2. request correction or erasure of Personal Information about you that is inaccurate; 
    3. ascertain information related to our policies and practices concerning Personal Information;  
    4. request the erasure of your Personal Information;  
    5. request the restriction of processing concerning you; and  
    6. Make a complaint to a supervisory authority in your country of residence. In certain circumstances, you also may have the right to request restrictions or object for legitimate reasons to the processing of your Personal Information under the applicable data protection regulations.  

Further, you have the right to transfer your Personal Information to third parties under Article 20 of the General Information Protection Regulation GDPR. All of these rights are subject to applicable exemptions and qualifications under applicable data privacy laws.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, all users have the right to; 

    1. Right to Access – Individuals have the right to know what and how their data is being processed, in full transparency; 
    2. Right to Rectification – Individuals have the right to obtain correction or completion of their data; 
    3. Right to Erasure – Individuals have the right to obtain deletion of their data for legitimate reasons (consent withdrawn, no longer necessary for the purpose, etc.); 
    4. Right to Restriction – Individuals can request that the controller stops processing their data if they do not want or cannot request full deletion; 
    5. Right to Object – Individuals have the right to object to certain processing of their data at any time, for example for direct marketing purposes; 
    6. Data Portability – Individuals have the right to request that personal data held by a controller be provided to them, or another controller.

We are committed to maintaining your data’s security and having measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under our control. All personal data is encrypted and stored in secure servers. We employ modern and secure techniques to protect our systems from intrusion by unauthorized individuals, and we regularly upgrade our security as better methods become available.  

Please be aware that no security measures online are perfect or impenetrable. Therefore, although we use industry-standard practices to protect your privacy, we cannot (and do not) guarantee the absolute security of personal data.

We continually strive to implement new technologies and processes to protect you better, your privacy, and your use of the service. As a result, changes to this privacy policy may be made by us from time to time. In no event will these changes result in the degradation of any security measures designed to protect you from unauthorized disclosure.
